What are XXIO8 Japanese golf clubs? One of the best selling golf clubs in Japan

Touched a little on the new XXIO8 series of golf clubs introduced in Japan in previous blog.

But here is a little more information regarding the new XXIO8 golf clubs:

The concept of the new XXIO8 golf clubs was based on the maximizing Swing MOI.

Made the grip 10 gram lighter
Shaft 1 gram lighter
Increased head weight by 1 gram

Easier to swing, More distance

Light overall weight but not too light to swing.

XXIO is a brand of SRI (Sumitomo Rubber Incorporated) which owns the Srixon brand and Cleveland Golf.

XXIO8 will be making its way to the United States next year!

With the stock setup, I will recommend to mid to low swing speed players looking for more distance.
Especially recommended for ladies and seniors!

Luke wins in Japan with MP-64! Srixon's new ball introduced in Japan!

Luke Donald was in Japan for the 2012 Dunlop Phoenix Open in Miyazaki Prefecture (Southern Island of Japan).

It is a tournament where many of the world's top players go to Japan and play during the off season:

article from gew.co.jp

Luke cruised to a win with a wire to wire finish using his Mizuno MP-64 irons which he helped design.

You can customize your own MP-64 with custom shaft, grips, length, lie, loft at fairwaygolfusa.com:

It was Luke's first win in Japan.

Luke played:

@ Srixon Japan

Srixon has introduced its new Z-Star ball in Japan.  The new ball is scheduled to launch in February of 2013.

article from gew.co.jp

This is what they say:

Tommy Nakajima:  "I can now out drive younger players!"
Ryo Ishikawa: "I can get more spin out of roughs!"

The new ball is designed to improve:
  • Softer feel
  • Spin Control
  • Stronger in to the wind
Srixon Japan is forecasting that their Z-Star ball sales will grow by 20% globally.

Can't wait to hit it!

Take a look at these Japanese clubs! Srixon, Taylor Made, Callaway, Odyssey!

You have to admit Japan makes pretty good electronics.

Did you also know that they make fine golf equipment?  Not sure why these are not available in the United States but I surfed on the web and found these products that I want to put my hands on:

The theme for this driver is "Aggressive Style".
They are going to be available starting 8/24 and 9/15.

They seem to have figured out that heavier head weight gives you more distance.
All 3 models have increased club head weights.

Yes the trend is heavier head, lighter shaft.

At 46.5 inches and the adjustments, this should make it as the longest adjustable driver out their (unless you customize something even at even longer length).

Taylor Made promotes it as the most forgiving and longest.
It is under 290 grams at this length!!!!

Swingweight under D4!

This is the putter that has been recently talked about.
Phil Mickelson uses a modified version (obviously since Japan does not have a lefthand model).

It is the #9 model with a high toe thus HT.

Adjustable weight technology.

I want one!

Callaway Legacy is a very popular model in Japan.
It features many of the US technology such as VFT technology.

The cup face and hyperbolic crwon technology in all titanium gives the looks, sound, forgiveness and distance for all kinds of players!

They all look great!
